Flames acquire Poulin from Lightning

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have acquired goaltender Kevin Poulin from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for future considerations. Poulin will report to the Flames’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Stockton Heat.

Poulin, a native of Montreal, Que., was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the fifth round (126th overall) in the 2008 NHL Draft. This season, the 25-year-old was claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay on September 26, but has not seen any action.

Poulin has appeared in 156 career AHL games with Bridgeport, posting a record of 69-70-15 with a a 2.83 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage and eight shutouts. He is also 18-25-3 (3.07, .899) in 50 career NHL games for the Islanders.
