Flats lifts Moose back into series

Wade Flaherty stopped all 19 shots he faced in his first action of the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs, backstopping Manitoba to a 3-2 win over Hamilton at Copps Coliseum on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs still hold a 2-1 lead in their North Division Final series, with Game 4 slated for Saturday.

Flaherty came on at the start of the second period in relief of Drew MacIntyre, who allowed two goals on eight shots in the first in his 10th consecutive start. The MVP of the 2004 Calder Cup Playoffs with Milwaukee, Flaherty made 10 saves in the second and nine in the third in his first appearance since suffering an injury on Mar. 16 at Grand Rapids. He has now won 10 consecutive decisions since his last loss on Dec. 30, 2006.

Brad Moran and Yannick Tremblay notched a goal and an assist each for the Moose, who are attempting to rally from an 0-2 deficit to win a series for the second straight postseason.

Carey Price (25 saves) saw his four-game winning streak snapped in the defeat. Danny Groulx and Corey Locke had the Hamilton goals.
