Gulls sign Samuels-Thomas to two-year pact

The San Diego Gulls announced today that the club has signed left wing Jordan Samuels-Thomas to a two-year contract.

Samuels-Thomas, 27, collected 12 goals and 12 assists for a career-best 24 points along with a plus-13 rating in 56 games with San Diego last season. He added one goal in 10 Calder Cup Playoff contests.

Samuels-Thomas was also named the Gulls’ winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the San Diego community during the 2016-17 season.

Originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round (203rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Samuels-Thomas has earned 27 goals and 27 assists in 177 career NHL games over three seasons with San Diego, Ontario and Rochester. The West Hartford, Conn., spent two seasons at Quinnipiac University and two seasons at Bowling Green State University.
