Gulls take Game 3 with late goal

Nic Kerdiles gathered a loose puck in the slot and fired home the game-winning goal with 1:33 left in regulation as San Diego took a 2-1 series lead with a 3-1 win over Ontario on Friday night.

The Gulls go for the series win when they visit the Inland Empire for Game 4 on Monday night.

San Diego’s Kalle Kossila and Ontario’s Mike Amadio traded first-period goals, and the 1-1 deadlock held up until Kerdiles put home his second goal of the series.

Antoine Laganiere added an empty-net goal for the final margin.

Jhonas Enroth stopped 38 of 39 shots on the night. Jack Campbell made 24 saves for the Reign.
