Heat, Penguins swing deal

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have acquired forward Joseph Cramarossa from the Stockton Heat in exchange for forward Colin Smith.

Cramarossa has tallied three goals and seven assists in 37 games with Stockton this season. The fifth-year pro appeared in 59 NHL games with Anaheim and Vancouver in 2016-17, collecting four goals and six assists.

A 25-year-old native of Toronto, Cramarossa has totaled 20 goals and 21 assists for 41 points in 201 career AHL games with Stockton, San Diego and Norfolk. He was originally selected by Anaheim in the third round of the 2011 NHL Draft.

Smith, 24, had five goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 35 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.

A native of Edmonton, Alta., Smith is in his fifth professional season and has collected 59 goals and 127 assists for 186 points in 314 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, San Antonio, Toronto and Lake Erie.

A seventh-round pick by Colorado in the 2012 NHL Draft, Smith has appeared in one NHL game, with the Avalanche on Dec. 1, 2014.
