IceHogs add first-rounder McNeill

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Tuesday that the club has reassigned center Mark McNeill from his junior club, the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders, to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

McNeill, 19, was Chicago’s first-round pick (18th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound center recently completed his third full season with Prince Albert Raiders, where he compiled 31 goals and 40 assists for 71 points in 69 games. His 71 points were second most on the Raiders.

The Edmonton, Alta., native inked a three-year entry-level contract with the Blackhawks on Jan. 3, 2012. In his three seasons with Prince Albert, McNeill totaled 72g-104a-176pts in 211 games.
