IceHogs clinch spot in postseason

The Rockford IceHogs are the fourth and final Central Division entrant in the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs, clinching a postseason berth with a 5-3 win at Iowa on Tuesday night.

The IceHogs, who finished 27th in the 30-team AHL in 2016-17, will go to the playoffs for the third time in the last four years. They will be joined by Chicago, Manitoba and Grand Rapids in the Central Division draw.

Fifteen of the 16 tickets to the AHL postseason have now been claimed. San Diego needs one point to wrap up the last spot in the Pacific Division.
