Iowa, Norfolk shuffle defensemen in NHL swap

The Dallas Stars, parent club of the AHL’s Iowa Stars, have acquired defenseman Bryce Lampman from the Tampa Bay Lightning, parent club of the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, in exchange for defenseman Mario Scalzo.

Lampman will report to Iowa, while Scalzo has been assigned to Norfolk.

Scalzo, 23, played in 15 games with Iowa this season, registering nine points (1g, 8a) and a plus-1 rating. The third-year pro has nine goals and 58 assists for 67 points in 162 careerAHL games.

Lampman, 25, was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the fourth round of the 2001 Entry Draft and has skated in 10 career NHL games with the Rangers over the last three seasons.

Lampman skated in 16 games for Norfolk this season, registering three goals and three assists for six points. In 274 career AHL contests, Lampman has 22 goals and 60 assists for 82 points.
