Islanders re-sign Dubielewicz

The National Hockey League’s New York Islanders, affiliate of the American Hockey League’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have re-signed goaltender Wade Dubielewicz.

Dubielewicz, 26, has played both seasons (2003-05) of his professional career with the Sound Tigers. He was an AHL All-Star and the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2003-04.

In 2004-05, Dubielewicz had a 18-23-1 record with a 2.67 goals against average in 43 games for the Sound Tigers.

The 5’10’’ 185-pounder from Kerrobert, Saskatchewan set league records with a 1.38 goals against average and .946 save percentage, and tied the league mark for first year netminders with nine shutouts. Dubielewicz posted a 20-8-5 record in 33 AHL games in 2003-04.

Dubielewicz is 38-31-6 with a franchise-record ten shutouts in 76 career appearances for the Sound Tigers.
