Jets acquire Dano in deal with Chicago

The Winnipeg Jets have acquired forward Marko Dano, a first-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and a conditional 2018 draft pick from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Andrew Ladd, forward Matt Fraser and defenseman Jay Harrison.

Fraser and Harrison will report to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.

Dano, 21, has appeared in 34 AHL games with the IceHogs this season, recording four goals and 19 assists for 23 points. He is also tied for the team lead with a plus-17 rating.

Dano has skated in 83 career AHL contests with Rockford and Springfield, totaling 17 goals and 31 assists for 48 points.

Dano also has one goal and one assist in 13 NHL games with the Blackhawks this season, and 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists) in 48 career NHL contests with Chicago and Columbus. He was originally a first-round pick by the Blue Jackets in 2013.

Fraser, 25, has registered five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 44 games with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose this season. He has 95 goals and 50 assists for 145 points in 225 career AHL contests with Manitoba, Providence, Texas and Peoria, including back-to-back 30-plus-goal seasons in 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Fraser has tallied 17 points (11 goals, six assists) in 87 NHL games with Dallas, Boston and Edmonton.

Harrison, 33, has recorded three goals and two assists for five points in 18 games with Manitoba this season. The 14th-year pro has totaled 37 goals and 80 assists for 117 points in 426 career AHL games with the Moose, the Albany River Rats, the Toronto Marlies and the St. John’s Maple Leafs.

Harrison has also appeared in 372 NHL matches with Toronto, Carolina and Winnipeg, posting 23 goals and 52 assists.

Ladd returns to the Blackhawks organization, where he was a member of Chicago’s 2010 Stanley Cup championship team.
