Kotyk scores in Milwaukee win

Seamus Kotyk became the eighth goaltender in American Hockey League history to score a goal when he found the open net during Milwaukee’s 6-1 win at the SBC Center in San Antonio on Sunday evening.

Kotyk shot the puck into the vacated Rampage net with three minutes remaining in regulation, giving the Admirals a 4-1 lead. Milwaukee would add two more insurance markers.

The last goaltender to score was Philadelphia’s Antero Niittymaki, coincidentally on the final day of the 2003-04 season.

Of the eight goaltenders in AHL history to be credited with a goal, five have done so by actually shooting the puck. The other three were the last player on their team to play the puck.
