Krog named Rbk/AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Chicago Wolves center Jason Krog has been named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 23, 2007. In two games last week, Krog registered two goals and added six assists for eight points, helping the Wolves to a pair of victories.

Krog notched a game-high five points (2-3-5) in Chicago’s 7-4 win over Peoria on Wednesday, including his 100th career AHL goal and an assist on the eventual game-winning tally. He then recorded three more assists – including one on the overtime game-winner – in the Wolves’ 4-3 victory at Grand Rapids on Saturday.

In recognition of his achievement, Krog will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolves home game.

The 32-year old Krog signed with the Atlanta Thrashers on July 4, 2006, and is in his second season with Chicago. Krog currently leads all AHL scorers with 40 points through 29 games this season, and his 28 assists and four game-winning goals are each tied for the league lead.

In 252 career AHL games, the native of Fernie, British Columbia, has totaled 100 goals and 190 assists for 290 points. Krog has also skated in 198 NHL games for the New York Islanders, Anaheim, and Atlanta, posting 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points.
