Larsen leads Wolves to Game 1 win

Brad Larsen scored two goals and assisted on another as Chicago opened the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs with a 4-1 win over Houston at the Allstate Arena on Tuesday night.

Game 2 will be Thursday back in Rosemont, Ill.

Stephen Weiss added a goal and an assist for the Wolves, and ex-Aero Cory Larose recorded two assists.

Larsen’s first goal of the night, with 4:43 left in the second period, snapped a 1-1 tie.

Chicago owned a 40-23 edge in shots for the game, including 29-13 over the final two periods. Kari Lehtonen finished with 22 saves to earn the win, while Josh Harding made 36 saves in his pro playoff debut.

Kyle Wanvig had the lone goal for the Aeros.
