Late goal sends Bruins to 2-1 series lead

T.J. Trevelyan scored with 90 seconds left in regulation, giving Providence a 2-1 victory over Manchester and a 2-1 lead in the Atlantic Division Final on Tuesday night.

Trevelyan extended his scoring streak to five games with the goal (3g, 3a), which came just 39 seconds after Oleg Tverdovsky had tied the score at 1-1.

Nate DiCasmirro picked up a shorthanded goal for the Bruins, who have held the Monarchs to six goals in five games at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center this season.

Hannu Toivonen made 24 saves for the win, his fourth in the last five games.

Barry Brust got the start again in net for Manchester and stopped 26 shots on the night.

The teams go right back at it Wednesday night in Game 3.
