Leggio traded to Arizona

The New York Islanders, parent club of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have acquired defenseman Mark Louis from the Arizona Coyotes, parent club of the AHL’s Portland Pirates, in exchange for goaltender David Leggio.

Leggio, 30, had a 7-13-0 record with the Sound Tigers in 2014-15, posting a 3.93 goals-against average and an .861 save percentage.

Leggio has played 224 career AHL games with Bridgeport, Hershey, Rochester, Portland, Albany and Binghamton, posting a record of 118-93-6 with a 2.78 GAA, a .912 save percentage and 12 shutouts. He led the AHL with 38 victories in 2012-13.

Louis, 27, has appeared in 34 games for Portland this season, recording three assists and racking up 77 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-4, 229-pound blueliner has a total of 174 games of AHL experience, all with the Pirates, totaling one goal, 14 assists and 349 PIM.
