The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have re-signed left wing Radek Smolenak to a one-year contract, Lightning executive vice president and general manager Brian Lawton announced.

Smolenak also made his NHL debut with the Lightning, playing in six games. He recorded one assist and ten penalty minutes in those games, making his NHL debut and recording his first NHL point with an assist on December 2 in Philadelphia.

A native of Prague, Czech Republic, Smolenak has appeared in 147 career AHL games with Norfolk and the Springfield Falcons. He has amassed 39 goals and 76 points with 281 penalty minutes in his AHL career.

Smolenak was selected by the Lightning in the third round, 73rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
