Marincin signs with Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the club has signed defenseman Martin Marincin to a one-year contract.

Marincin, 23, was acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers on June 27 in exchange for forward Brad Ross and a fourth-round pick in this year’s NHL Entry Draft. In 85 NHL games over two seasons (2013-14, 2014-15) with the Oilers, the Kosice, Slovakia native registered one goal, 10 assists and 32 penalty minutes. He was also a member of the 2014 Slovakian Olympic team that competed in Sochi, Russia.

Marincin was originally selected by Edmonton in the second round (46th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
