Marlies announce broadcast schedule

The Toronto Marlies have announced their television and radio broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2005-06 American Hockey League season. Leafs TV, The Score and Rogers Sportsnet will be responsible for transmitting 42 games into Toronto-area homes commencing this fall.

In addition, AM640 Toronto radio will broadcast a minimum of 31 games beginning with the team’s season-opener on Oct. 7 in Rochester, N.Y.

“We are delighted to deliver AHL hockey to sports fans in Toronto and look forward to a long-term relationship with our inaugural-season broadcast partners,” said Chris Gibbs, director of business operations for the Marlies. “Leafs TV, The Score and Rogers Sportsnet are well-established in the Toronto market and we’re certain they’ll provide top-class coverage of the Marlies throughout the upcoming season.”

All 15 of The Score’s broadcasts this season will be available nationally in Canada.
