Marlies ink Heeter

The Toronto Marlies announced Thursday that the team has signed goaltender Cal Heeter to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Heeter, 28, made 12 appearances with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins last season, going 10-2-0 with a 2.07 goals-against average, a .933 save percentage and one shutout. He also appeared in 17 games with Toledo (ECHL).

A product of Ohio State University, Heeter has a record of 38-43-6 in 89 AHL games with Grand Rapids, Toronto and Adirondack, with a 2.68 GAA, a .914 save percentage and five shutouts.
