Marlies launch Web site

The Toronto Marlies announced Wednesday that they have launched their official Web site, now available for viewing at www.torontomarlies.com.

The Web site contains detailed Marlies history describing the origin of the name, the long association with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the many National Hockey League players who wore the Marlies jersey as part of their development before graduating to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Torontomarlies.com is also your destination to follow along with the St. John’s Maple Leafs as they enter the 2005 Calder Cup Playoffs. The site contains detailed player biographies of the current St. John’s team and will also host live audio coverage of the St. John’s games throughout the 2005 playoffs.

In addition, exclusive post-game playoff reports will be posted on torontomarlies.com with comments from St. John’s head coach Doug Shedden and Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Ferguson.

St. John’s enters its North Division semifinal series against the Manitoba Moose on a three-game winning streak and with home-ice advantage. Game 1 is tonight at Mile One Stadium in St. John’s, and will air live on Leafs TV.

Season ticket information for the Marlies’ 2005-06 season is also available on the site, including the seating diagram for the 8,400-seat Ricoh Coliseum.
