Matinee doubleheader to begin 2006

The American Hockey League’s first games of 2006 are a Monday afternoon doubleheader north of the border, featuring four teams from the North Division.

First, at 12:30 p.m. (ET), the Toronto Marlies and the Cleveland Barons invade the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, home of the parent Maple Leafs.

Cleveland is coming off back-to-back shutout victories over San Antonio, with Nolan Schaefer doing the goaltending honors in both.

Toronto has won three of the first four meetings between the teams this season, but lost its only other game at the ACC this year, a 4-1 defeat to Hamilton on Nov. 3.

Following that game, Manitoba hosts Rochester at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (ET).

Each of the first three meetings this year between the Americans and Moose has been decided by a single goal, with Rochester winning twice.

You can follow the action from Winnipeg live from your own computer with B2 Networks’ AHL video webcast, and be sure to keep track of the scores and statistics of both games on our live real-time scoreboard.
