Milwaukee Admirals moving up the dial

The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that starting this fall, Milwaukee’s ESPN Radio will serve as the Admirals’ flagship radio station. Milwaukee’s ESPN Radio is heard on AM 1510 during the days and AM 1290 at night.

The Admirals will become the first local professional sports team to air their games live on Milwaukee’s ESPN Radio. The two-year deal, through the 2006-07 season, will feature all 80 of the Admirals’ regular-season home games as well as all Calder Cup Playoff contests on ESPN Radio. In addition to the games the Ads will have a weekly one-hour radio show on the station beginning in October.

“This is a fantastic new opportunity for the Admirals to expand our audience,” said Admirals governor and CEO Harris Turer. “With this parternship with ESPN Radio, we will be able to capture the casual sports fan and introduce them to the excitement of Admirals hockey.”

In addition to the Admirals broadcasts, Milwaukee’s ESPN Radio features coverage of the NBA, Nextel Cup auto racing, Major League Baseball, NCAA basketball, the Bowl Championship Series, and the Golf Majors.
