The Milwaukee Admirals have signed goaltender Tom McCollum to an American Hockey League contract for the 2018-19 season.

A first-round draft choice (30th overall) by Detroit in 2008, McCollum enters his 10th professional season in 2018-19 after going 20-14-3 with a 2.64 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage and one shutout in 37 appearances for the Grand Rapids Griffins last season. It was McCollum’s second career 20-win campaign.

McCollum has appeared in 281 career AHL games with Grand Rapids, Charlotte and Stockton, posting a record of 135-107-23 with a 2.72 GAA, a .908 save percentage and nine shutouts. He is the Griffins’ franchise leader in games (263) and wins (123) by a goaltender.

McCollum also has a record of 15-12 (2.61, .913) with one shutout in 31 career playoff appearances, and was a member of Grand Rapids’ Calder Cup championship team in 2013.

McCollum made his NHL debut with the Red Wings in 2010-11 and has played in three career NHL contests (1-0-0).
