Moose double up Griffins, take 2-1 series lead

Eric Comrie made 45 saves as the Manitoba Moose took a 2-1 lead in their Central Division semifinal series with a 6-3 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday night.

Grand Rapids faces elimination as it hosts Game 4 on Thursday.

Chase De Leo tallied a goal and three assists for the Moose, and Sami Niku, Cameron Schilling, Mike Sgarbossa and Nic Petan all recorded a goal and an assist.

Comrie (2-1) earned the win in Game 3 after being lifted after two periods of Game 2’s loss.

Ben Street notched a goal and an assist for the Griffins, who were 10-0 on home ice during their championship run last postseason.

Tom McCollum allowed three goals on 11 shots before giving way to Jared Coreau, who stopped 11 of 12 shots in relief.
