Moose survive, force Game 7

Josh Green scored twice and Maxime Ouellet made 35 saves as the Manitoba Moose staved off elimination with a 3-1 victory in Grand Rapids on Monday night.

The Moose and Griffins will play the deciding Game 7 of the North Division Final on Tuesday at Van Andel Arena.

Green scored twice and Lee Goren once as Manitoba raced out to a three-goal lead just 8:21 into the game.

Ouellet relieved an injured Wade Flaherty at the 6:42 mark of the first period and shut down the league’s top-ranked offense, allowing only a goal to Jiri Hudler.

The Griffins owned a 27-3 edge in shots over the final two periods, but could get no closer.

Green’s second goal of the night came on the power play, the Moose’s first PPG in a road playoff game in 59 chances.
