Moran, MacIntyre help Moose drop Rivermen, 4-1

MANITOBA 4, PEORIA 1

Brad Moran tallied the game-winning goal and added an assist, and 2008 AHL All-Star goaltender Drew MacIntyre made 24 saves as Manitoba posted a 4-1 road victory over Peoria on Tuesday at Carver Arena.

The victory snapped Manitoba’s eight-game winless skid against West Division opponents (0-7-0-1), including a pair of losses to Peoria in Winnipeg last month.

Defenseman Daniel Rahimi tallied an unassisted goal for the Moose, the first goal of his AHL career.

Alexandre Bolduc and Jimmy Sharrow contributed power play tallies in the second and third periods, respectively. Bolduc also contributed an assist, joining Moran with a multiple-point night.

With the win, MacIntyre improved his season record to 17-12-1.

Julian Talbot lit the lamp for Peoria, which is now winless in three straight games (0-2-0-1).

HOUSTON 3, ROCKFORD 1
Three different skaters scored goals to give Houston a 3-1 win over host Rockford at the MetroCentre in the teams’ first meeting since Nov. 28.

The Aeros earned their first-ever victory over the IceHogs, having dropped that Nov. 28 match-up along with the teams’ initial clash on Oct. 17.

Aeros goaltender Barry Brust earned the win with 24 saves on 25 shots, marking the second straight game in which he allowed just one goal.

Peter Olvecky, Joel Ward, and Ryan Hamilton provided the offense for Houston, which was playing the first of a six-game road trip.

Derek Nesbitt netted the only marker for the IceHogs, who haven’t scored more than two goals in any of their last four contests (1-3-0-0).
