Mrozik paces Road Runners to win

Defenseman Rick Mrozik recorded a goal and two assists during a seven-minute span late in the second period, lifting Edmonton to a 4-1 win over Utah on Thursday night.

The Road Runners’ four goals included three on the power play and one on a delayed penalty.

Martin Sonnenberg‘s goal gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead, which held up until Mrozik got his second of the year at the 12:44 mark of the second period. Jamie Wright gave Edmonton the lead at 16:58, and Mathieu Roy made it 3-1 with just 15 seconds left in the frame.

Jarret Stoll made the Runners 3-for-3 on the power play early in the third. They finished the game 3-for-4 against Utah, which ranks 26th in the league on the penalty kill.

Tyler Moss made 22 saves for the win, improving to 7-2-1 on the season.
