SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Bridgeport Sound Tigers goaltender Scott Munroe has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 20, 2009. Munroe stopped 63 of the 64 shots he faced in two appearances last week for Bridgeport.
Munroe got the start on Friday night in Providence and shined in the Sound Tigers’ 3-1 victory, turning aside 41 shots -- including all 30 he faced over the final two periods. The win was Bridgeport’s first at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in nearly three years.
