Oilers acquire Samuelsson from Coyotes

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Henrik Samuelsson from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for forward Mitch Moroz.

Samuelsson, 22, was a first-round pick (27th overall) by the Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 20 AHL games for Tucson this season, recording two goals and one assist.

The Pittsburgh native and son of Charlotte Checkers head coach Ulf Samuelsson has appeared in 131 career AHL games over three pro seasons with Tucson, Springfield and Portland, totaling 23 goals and 32 assists for 55 points.

Samuelsson has played three career NHL games, all with Arizona in 2014-15.

Moroz, 22, has skated in 17 AHL games with Bakersfield this season, registering one goal and two assists. He was a second-round pick (32nd overall) by the Oilers in the 2012 draft.

The third-year pro has tallied 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 123 career AHL games with Bakersfield and Oklahoma City.
