Panthers sign ’17 AHL All-Star Grenier

The Florida Panthers announced today that the club has signed forward Alexandre Grenier to a one-year, two-way contract.

Grenier, 25, matched his career high with 17 goals and added 28 assists for 45 points in 69 games with the AHL’s Utica Comets last season. He also represented the Comets at the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic.

A 6-foot-5, 200-pound native of Laval, Que., Grenier has played 277 regular-season games in the AHL with Utica and Chicago, recording 67 goals and 108 assists for 175 points. He also has eight goals and 10 assists in 27 postseason games, and helped the Comets to the Calder Cup Finals in 2015.

Originally a third-round pick by Vancouver in the 2011 NHL Draft, Grenier has appeared in nine NHL games, all with the Canucks.
