Penguins turn it on in third

In the middle of his longest scoring drought of the year, Shane Endicott netted two goals 58 seconds apart to lift Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 4-1 win over Norfolk on Monday night.

Michel Ouellet added his team-leading 14th goal of the season and Kris Beech capped the scoring with an empty-net goal as the Penguins struck four times in the third period. Beech finished with a goal and an assist, while Tomas Surovy added two assists.

Dany Sabourin got the start and made 22 saves to earn the win in net for Wilkes-Barre.

Rookie Rene Bourque had the only goal for the Admirals, his eighth of the season.

The game marked the end of an eight-game road trip (3-4-0-1) for Norfolk.

Also Monday, Thomas Vanek and Milan Bartovic had a goal and an assist as Rochester defeated Utah, 3-2.

Vanek and Jason Pominville scored during the second period, when the Amerks outshot the Grizzlies by a 15-1 margin and turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead.

Ryan Miller made 21 saves for the win, improving his record to 11-8-0 on the season.
