Plante recalled, Chorney to OKC

Oklahoma City and Edmonton have swapped a pair of defenseman as Alex Plante is recalled to the Oilers while Taylor Chorney has been assigned to OKC, the Oilers’ front office announced today.

This is Plante’s second call up of the 2011-2012 season. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound blueliner played in one game for Edmonton this season. In all, he has played eight NHL games, recording two assists and serving 13 penalty minutes. Plante has recorded five assists in 17 games with Oklahoma City this season, serving 48 penalty minutes and is a +9 in those games. He is expected to join the Oilers in advance of their game against the Nashville Predators tonight.

Chorney, a 6-foot, 200-pounder, has played in two games for Edmonton this season and four games for the Barons. He played the majority of the 2010-11 season with Oklahoma City, scoring 13 points (3-10-13). Chorney will join the Barons in time for their three-game road trip this weekend.
