“Platt trick” lifts Crunch to victory

Rookie Geoff Platt scored three times as Syracuse rallied with five unanswered goals to post a 6-3 win over Rochester at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday night.

Platt, a first-year pro who scored 45 goals at Erie (OHL) last season, cut the Crunch’s deficit to 3-2 midway through the second period, then netted the final two tallies of Syracuse’s four-goal third.

The 20-year-old Platt has six goals in five games this season.
