Rampage ink Cornet

The San Antonio Rampage announced that the club has signed former AHL All-Star forward Philippe Cornet to an American Hockey League contract.
Cornet, 23, joins the Rampage after having played the majority of the last three seasons for the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons. The 6-foot, 196-pound forward tallied 15 goals and 18 assists in 46 games for the Barons last season, along with 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists) in 18 games for the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.
In 2011-12, Cornet led the Barons with 24 goals and earned a trip to the AHL All-Star Classic for his efforts.
In 173 AHL games with Oklahoma City, Cornet has tallied 46 goals and 47 assists for 93 points. He has also recorded four goals and 12 assists in 31 AHL playoff games, helping the Barons to back-to-back trips to the Western Conference Finals in 2012 and 2013.
The Val-Senneville, Que., native was drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and made his NHL debut during the 2011-12 season, tallying one assist in two games for the Oilers.
