Rampage sign MacArthur

San Antonio Rampage general manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League club has signed left wing Pete MacArthur to an AHL contract.

MacArthur, 25, joins the Rampage from the Rockford IceHogs where he spent the last two seasons collecting 67 points (22 goals, 45 assists) and 60 penalty minutes in 135 games. He also appeared in seven playoff games with the IceHogs during the last two seasons, recording one assist.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward and Clifton Park, N.Y., native spent four collegiate seasons at Boston University (2004-08) appearing in 159 games and totaling 147 points (64 goals, 83 assists). During his freshman year he was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and appeared in 10 playoff games, tallying 10 points (2g, 8a). On Feb. 13, 2006, MacArthur scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the annual Beanpot championship against Boston College and won the Beanpot Most Valuable Player award.

In addition, he was selected as a Hockey East First Team All-Star during his senior year and named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star during his sophomore and junior seasons. During his final season with the Terriers, he was named to the NCAA East Second All-American Team. At the end of his senior year, he joined the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) collecting one assist in nine games.
