The New York Rangers, parent club of the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, have acquired forward Dan Catenacci from the Buffalo Sabres, parent club of the AHL’s Rochester Americans, in exchange for defenseman Mat Bodie.

Catenacci, 23, has five goals and eight assists in 50 AHL games with Rochester this season, his fourth pro campaign. The native of Newmarket, Ont., has skated in 246 AHL games, totaling 43 goals and 46 assists for 89 points.

A third-round choice by Buffalo in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Catenacci made his NHL debut with the Sabres last season, appearing in 11 contests.

Bodie, 26, has eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points — good for 12th among AHL defensemen in scoring — in 45 games while serving as captain of the Wolf Pack in 2016-17.

The native of East St. Paul, Man., who won a national championship at Union College in 2014, has skated in 196 AHL games over his three pro seasons, tallying 20 goals and 78 assists for 98 points.
