Red Wings recall Tatar

The Detroit Red Wings on Thursday recalled left wing Tomas Tatar from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Tatar, 21, has appeared in 26 games with the Griffins this season, totaling seven goals and 14 assists while producing 13 points (4-9—13) in the team’s past 10 games.

The Ilava, Slovakia, native appeared in nine games with the Red Wings last season, scoring a goal in his first NHL game on Dec. 31, 2010 versus the New York Islanders.
