River Rats roster ready for camp

New Jersey Devils CEO/President/General Manager Lou Lamoriello announced on Thursday that 33 players have been assigned to the American Hockey League’s Albany River Rats.

Assigned were goaltenders Ari Ahonen, Scott Clemmensen and Matus Kostur; defensemen Bobby Allen, Alex Andreyev, Alex Brooks, Phil Cole, Matt DeMarchi, David Hale, Anton Kadeykin, Teemu Kesa, Krisjanis Redlihs, Ray Schultz and Steven Spencer; and forwards Brett Clouthier, Justin Dziama, Adrian Foster, Sam Ftorek, Cam Janssen, Eric Johansson, Ivan Khomutov, Frank Littlejohn, Ken Magowan, Ryan Murphy, Ahren Nittel, Zach Parise, Tuomas Pihlman, Ilkka Pikkarainen, Pascal Rheaume, Rob Skrlac, Aleksander Suglobov, Joey Tenute and Aaron Voros.

Parise, out of the University of North Dakota, was the Devils’ first-round draft pick in 2003. Rheaume returns to Albany, where he helped the River Rats win a Calder Cup in 1995. Schultz captained Milwaukee to the Calder Cup title in 2004.

Albany’s training camp will get underway Sept. 26 at South Mountain Arena in West Orange, N.J.
