Rivermen get first preseason win

Troy Riddle scored three times to lead Peoria to a 6-5 win over Chicago in AHL preseason action in Hoffman Estates, Ill., on Monday night.

The Rivermen rallied from deficits of 2-0 and 3-2, sealing the win on Riddle’s third goal of the night with 7:51 remaining.

Jon DiSalvatore had a goal and two assists for Peoria, while Trevor Byrne, Gerry Burke, Charles Linglet and Chris Durno had two assists apiece.

Brian Maloney led the host Wolves with a goal and three assists. Vlad Serov had a goal and two assists, giving him five points in two preseason outings.

Curtis Sanford (11 shots, 8 saves) and Matt Underhill (16, 14) shared the goaltending duties for the Rivermen, while Kevin Reiter (15, 12) and Tuomas Tarkki (16, 13) were in net for Chicago.
