Rivermen get past Griffins, 4-3

Pascal Pelletier‘s goal with 4:19 left in regulation snapped a 3-3 tie and sent Peoria to a 4-3 win over Grand Rapids at Carver Arena on Thursday night.

Lars Eller had a goal and an assist for the Rivermen, Barry Tallackson moved into a tie for the team lead with his 16th goal of the season and Matt McIlvane scored his first career AHL goal as Peoria closed to within 10 points of fourth place in the West Division.

Jonas Junland recorded two assists and Ben Bishop made 32 saves as Peoria earned its fifth consecutive win over Grand Rapids.

Mattias Ritola and Jeremy Williams each notched a goal and an assist for the Griffins, who fell to 1-6-2-1 in their last 10 games. Thomas McCollum stopped 32 of 36 shots in defeat, and is now 0-9-1 in 10 decisions since his last win on Dec. 13.
