Roadrunners sign four

The Tucson Roadrunners have signed goaltender Michael Houser, defenseman Ryan Culkin and left wings Scott Allen and Trevor Cheek to AHL contracts.

Houser, 24, enters his sixth pro season in 2017-18. He appeared in 41 games in the ECHL with Cincinnati last season, as well as one AHL contest with the Cleveland Monsters.

In 72 career AHL appearances with Cleveland, Ontario and San Antonio, Houser has a record of 32-26-5 with a 2.88 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage and three shutouts.

Cheek, 24, returns for his second season with the Roadrunners after appearing in 23 games last season, notching four assists. In 169 career AHL games over four pro campaigns with Tucson, San Antonio and Lake Erie, Cheek has totaled 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points.

Allen, 27, made his AHL debut last season and played 57 games with Bakersfield, registering eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points. Allen is entering his third pro season out of the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Culkin, 23, was scoreless in 19 AHL games with Stockton last season, his third pro campaign. A fifth-round draft choice by Calgary in 2012, Culkin has skated in 83 career AHL games with Stockton and Adirondack, totaling two goals and 18 assists for 20 points.
