Sabres sign All-Star Tardif

The Buffalo Sabres, NHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans, have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with forward Jamie Tardif.

Tardif has appeared in 438 career AHL games over seven seasons with Providence, Grand Rapids, Iowa and Manitoba, tallying 123 goals and 106 assists for 229 points.

In 2012-13, the Welland, Ont., native scored a career-high 30 goals for Providence, tied for fifth in the AHL. He represented the P-Bruins at the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic, and also made his NHL debut with Boston, appearing in two games. Tardif added seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 12 postseason games for Providence.

Tardif was originally drafted by Calgary in 2003 (fourth round).
