San Antonio signs Hamonic to AHL deal

San Antonio Rampage General Manager Craig Billington announced today that the club has agreed to an AHL contract with defenseman Justin Hamonic. Per club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hamonic, 21, has played the past four seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He recorded three goals, 43 assists and 199 penalty minutes in 255 career games with the Americans and served as the team’s captain for the 2014-15 season. Following Tri-City’s exit from the playoffs, he joined the ECHL’s Alaska Aces, making his professional debut on April 4 and playing in four games with the Aces.
