San Diego signs Samuels-Thomas

The San Diego Gulls announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed left wing Jordan Samuels-Thomas to a one-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Samuels-Thomas, 26, has scored 2-0=2 points with two penalty minutes (PIM) and a +4 rating in four appearances with San Diego this season after he signed a professional tryout (PTO) on Nov. 10. The 6-4, 210-pound forward scored goals in his first two appearances with the Gulls, including one in his debut with the club on Nov. 11 vs. Manitoba and San Diego’s lone shorthanded goal of the season on Nov. 12 vs. Manitoba.

Originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round (203rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Samuels-Thomas has appeared in 125 career AHL games, recording 17-15=32 points with 118 PIM.
