Senators sign Goloubef to extension

The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club re-signed defenseman Cody Goloubef to a one-year, two-way contract.

Goloubef, 29, was acquired by Ottawa from Boston on Jan. 11 and finished the 2018-19 season with six goals, 18 assists and a plus-14 rating in 46 AHL games between Belleville and Providence. He also appeared in five NHL games with Ottawa.

Entering his 10th pro season, Goloubef has registered 34 goals and 88 assists for 122 points in 311 career AHL contests with Belleville, Providence, Stockton, San Antonio, Cleveland and Springfield. He was an AHL All-Star in 2014, and earned a bronze medal with Canada at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Goloubef was a second-round draft pick by Columbus in 2008, and has played 134 NHL games with the Columbus, Colorado and Ottawa, recording two goals and 21 assists.
