SERIES NOTEBOOK:
After a 58-win, 117-point regular season, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is back at 0-0 as it continues its quest for a Calder Cup with a division semifinal series against Norfolk... The Penguins were swept out of the 2010 playoffs by the Albany River Rats, their first-ever first-round loss... Wilkes-Barre saw 12 players score double-digit goals, 14 tally at least 30 points and 15 wind up with a plus/minus rating at plus-10 or better... Brett Sterling, who was on the Chicago team that defeated the Penguins for the 2008 Calder Cup, led Wilkes-Barre with 27 goals and 53 points in the regular season... Brad Thiessen (35-8-1, 1.94, .922, 7 SO) was named the outstanding goaltender in the AHL for 2010-11... Norfolk handed the Penguins two of their 10 regulation losses on home ice this season, but Wilkes-Barre won each of the teams’ last five meetings overall... Marc-Antoine Pouliot, who played for the Penguins in 2006-07, was Norfolk’s top scorer with 25 goals, 47 assists and 72 points in 69 games... The Admirals are in the playoff for the first time in four seasons as Tampa Bay’s top affiliate, and are 0-6 all-time in best-of-seven series.
