Lake Erie’s first-ever trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs begins with a meeting with Manitoba, a postseason participant for the seventh consecutive year and the runner-up to Hershey in the 2009 Calder Cup Finals... The Monsters finished the regular season with a 23-7-0-1 mark in their last 31 games to finish one point off the lead in the North Division... After the All-Star break, Monsters forwards Ben Walter (7-26-33, +19) and David Van der Gulik (10-17-27, +20) combined for 60 points and a plus-39 rating... Greg Mauldin had 18-17-35 and a plus-25 in 43 games for Lake Erie... Monsters goaltender Jason Bacashihua has played one career postseason game, a 2003 outing with Utah...
