SERIES NOTEBOOK:
For the second year in a row and the fourth time in the last nine postseasons, Hamilton and Manitoba collide in the Calder Cup Playoffs, this time with a trip to the conference finals on the line... The Bulldogs have knocked the Moose out in each of their three previous playoff meetings, most recently in the first round last year... Hamilton’s six-game victory over Oklahoma City in the division semis was sparked by their top line of Nigel Dawes (5-3-8), Aaron Palushaj (2-5-7) and Dustin Boyd (0-5-5), as well as the play of goaltender Drew MacIntyre (4-2, 1.67, .945)... Nineteen different Bulldogs recorded at least one point in the series... MacIntyre, who was with the Moose when they lost to Hamilton in the 2007 postseason, has reached the second round for the fifth time in six years with five different teams (Hamilton 2011, Chicago ’10, Milwaukee ’09, Manitoba ’07, Grand Rapids ’06)... Manitoba rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to eliminate Lake Erie, capping the comeback with a 4-1 victory in Cleveland on Tuesday night... Marco Rosa (4-8-12) led the AHL in assists and finished second in points in the first round, and Sergei Shirokov (5-2-7) registered a point in all seven games... Manitoba was 0-for-21 on the power play vs. Lake Erie before Keith Seabrook scored with the man advantage once in Game 6 and once in Game 7... After being pulled from Game 1, 2011 AHL All-Rookie goaltender Eddie Lack started the final three games of the series for the Moose and won them all, stopping 86 of 88 shots (0.67, .977).
