Sharks fans donate over 2,000 pounds of food

Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced that the Worcester Sharks collected over 2,000 pounds of food for the 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive during the Sharks game vs. the Pirates on Saturday, November 17 at the DCU Center. The canned food was donated to the Friendly House of Worcester on Monday.

The Sharks nearly tripled the amount which was collected last season, and all fans that donated food received a free ticket voucher to a future Sharks game compliments of Price Chopper.  The Worcester Sharks wives and girlfriends, Lambda Chi Alpa Fraternity of WPI, the Worcester County Sheriffs Office, and Friendly House all collected food at the Sharks game on Saturday.
This event was part of a two week long Thanksgiving Food Drive spearheaded by the Worcester County Sheriffs Office which collected over 16,000 pounds of food for the Friendly House of Worcester. The food is to be distributed to needy families in the Worcester area.
