Sharks sign Rissmiller, Wilson to tryouts

Worcester Sharks general manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the team has signed forward Patrick Rissmiller and defenseman Michael Wilson to professional tryout agreements.

Rissmiller, a 34-year-old Belmont, Mass., native and Holy Cross alum, has played 523 AHL games for Cleveland, Hartford, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Lake Erie and Rochester, where he accumulated 125 goals and 227 assists for 352 points.

A two-time AHL All-Star (2006, 2010), Rissmiller notched 29 points (13g, 16a) in 49 games with Lake Erie last season. He played four seasons for Sharks head coach Roy Sommer with the Cleveland Barons from 2002-06.

Rissmiller has played 192 games in the NHL with San Jose, the New York Rangers, Atlanta and Florida, recording 18 goals and 28 assists for 46 points. He also appeared in 30 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the NHL Sharks from 2006-08.

Wilson, a 25-year-old North Vancouver, B.C., native, returns to the Sharks blue line where he played 85 games over the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, recording six goals and 14 assists for 20 points.

This season, Wilson has appared in 36 games for Orlando in the ECHL, registering two goals and 21 assists for 23 points.
